Active holidays: enjoy all 4 seasons in the Valle Isarco

Villnöß Nature Valley:
Between active holidays and slow food

Quietly situated and easy to reach: this is how our Miglanzhof presents itself at the transition from the Eisack Valley to the Dolomite Valley of Villnöß. It is the starting point for walks and cycling excursions, winter hikes and tobogganing adventures. Not to forget the culinary delights in the valley, as Villnöß is the first Slow Food Travel Destination in South Tyrol. Join us on a journey through the seasons!

As a Slow Food Travel Destination and member of the “Alpine Pearls” for gentle tourism, Villnöss manages the ideal tightrope walk between being active and enjoying, between strengthening and relaxing in all seasons.

Spring and summer

In this unique mountain world, spring starts a little later and the hot summer days in the valley are pleasantly clear. Everything else is a little more leisurely too: the Slow Bike tours offer from May onwards combine e-biking with South Tyrolean delicacies in a harmonious way. Hikes to the surrounding alpine pastures and bike tours on the new bike path to Brixen start from our farm. At the end of the valley, however, where the Villnöss high ropes course is enthroned, the road climbs to the Zanser Alm. It is the starting point for excursions in the Puez-Odle Nature Park and for mountain tours to the mighty Geisler peaks.

Autumn

In September the first colder days announce themselves. Hiking at all altitudes now gives way to more leisurely walks to the valley’s sights. The Eisack Valley is famous at this time of year for Törggelen, a tradition that used to celebrate the end of the grape harvest. Today you’ll be served new wine, hearty Schlutzkrapfen, slaughter platter, sweet Krapfen and chestnuts.

Winter

Winter in the Eisack Valley usually means a holiday in a white wonderland. When thick flakes fall on the villages, the ice skating rink and the toboggan runs in the Villnöss Valley promise special moments with family and friends. It is the time for wonderful winter hikes and ski tours, and perhaps also for the first turns on skis at the valley’s own ski lift. Hidden among the snow-covered mountain giants of the Geisler is the rustic Geisler Alm, destination for an evening of moonlight tobogganing.

No matter what time of year, there is always something going on in Villnöß.
